Brandywine Hills Point-to-Point Races!!

WEST CHESTER, Pa.--The Point-to-Point race season is about to get underway!

This is the oldest point-to-point in the Delaware Valley and the proceeds will benefit the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance’s environmental education and watershed conservation programs.

The Presenting Sponsor is the Radnor Hunt Foxhunters & The Hounds Foundation.

Race day offers fun and exciting pony and horse races, a parade of foxhounds, antique cars and a children’s activities area.

The day begins at 12 Noon with the four pony races on the flat as well as bouncy pony races for children and adults and a Spoon Egg Race for ages 2-8.

Gates open at 11 AM off Route 842 with preferred parking ($70) near the finish line and general admission parking for ($40) per car.

It's cash only at the gate on race day for parking.

Refreshments will be available on-site for purchase from the On The Roll food truck.

The H.E. Myrick Conservation Center is the headquarters of the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance (BRC).

The 318-acre property is located in Pocopson Township along Route 842, six miles west of West Chester and three miles east of Unionville.

Mount Harmon Wicomico Hunt Point to Point to be featured on April 12

EARLEVILLE, Md.--Mount Harmon Plantation and Wicomico Hunt Club are co-hosting the not to be missed event of the spring and a wonderful day in the country for friends, families, and the community to enjoy ~ the 5th running of the Mount Harmon-Wicomico Point-to-Point races on April 12.

wicii 1Plan to join us for a great day of spring races at one of Maryland’s most beautiful historic sites, featuring ten races, including timber, flat, and pony races
that kick off at 10:00am.

There are Side Saddle exhibition race and Filed Master Chase races too.

The point to point races are part of the Maryland Steeplechase Governor’s Cup Series, and Maryland’s only waterfront point to point races!

wicoo 2After the morning pony races, there will be a will be a special Junior & Invitational Field Master Chase, followed by a special Side Saddle Exhibition race, the Wicomico Hunt Club Hound Parade, Brandywine Valley Driving Club Antique Carriage Parade, and judging of Tailgate and Hat Contests.

Post time for the afternoon timber races is at 1:30 pm.

The featured race is The Wicomico Hunt Cup, an open event over the three-mile Mount Harmon Course, with Post Time at 3 pm.

wicoo 3Don’t miss our Point to Point Artisan Marketplace with an Open Air Food Court, Tavern and a Marketplace with dozens of artisan and equestrian vendors and merchants!

There are Stick Pony Races and a Petting Zoo so bring friends and family.

Mount Harmon features a restored 18th century plantation with manor house, formal boxwood garden, 200-acre nature preserve, miles of scenic nature trails, and stunning waterfront setting.

Mount Harmon is open for guided tours May to October and Day Pass visitors can visit daily year round to enjoy the historic grounds and nature preserve.

The racecourse was completed for our April 2022 inaugural event, and includes 11 timber fences set on established turf.

wicoo 4Over 1,000 attend the point to point each year to enjoy a full day of spring point to point racing in the countryside overlooking the Sassafras River.
