PILOT MOUNTAIN, N.C.--My journey into all-natural insect repellent products was as unexpected as it was eventful.

It first began when I moved to the Southeast from Texas with my three horses in 2015.

The bugs in the summer were at plague level proportions that the four of us were just not used to.

My horses began having severe skin issues, and every fly spray I tried either did not work or made my horses break out in hives.

A couple years later, I discovered the Fly Off My Horse Equine Fly Spray formula.

It made a significant difference in my horses’ quality of life as it repelled insects well with no adverse effects.

I continued to use it for years without ever thinking about turning it into a business.

Fast forward to 2023 when I got a new farrier, and he asked me about selling it.

He loved how well it worked and how it helped his son who was allergic to the chemicals used in traditional fly sprays.

That was the beginning of what would become Fly Off My Horse, LLC. 

In a twist of fate, as I was launching Fly Off My Horse in the spring of 2024, I became very ill with four diseases from a tick bite.

As I struggled to recover, I became even more passionate about creating all-natural insect repellent products for people and animals that are effective and safe.

Fly Off My Horse, LLC currently offers six insect repellent products.

Two for horses, and four for people.

They are all 100% all natural ingredients.

For horses, we have our Equine Fly Spray and Equine Insect Repellent Ointment, a fantastic multi-purpose salve that repels, protects, soothes, and helps heal.

For people, we have a Bug Spray, Bug Spray with Shimmer, Insect Repellent Body Butter which is perfect to put on in lieu of lotion when you’re going to be outside where there are bugs, and an Insect Repellent Sunscreen for those who need both sun protection and insect repellent.

We are constantly receiving feedback from our customers to improve our products and to develop new ones.
