Delaware Valley University to be featured on "The College Tour"

DOYLESTOWN, Pa.--Delaware Valley University is thrilled to be featured on "The College Tour" streaming series.

DelVal 11Emmy-nominated and award-winning TV producers visited DelVal’s campus to film 10 students who shared their stories about what it’s truly like to be an Aggie.

Hosted by Alex Boylan, winner of “The Amazing Race,” the series tells the story of colleges and universities around the world.

Each episode focuses on a single college or university and covers campus life, academics, housing, sports, activities, and much more.

DelVal’s episode of “The College Tour” perfectly displays the University’s commitment to experiential learning.

The University’s award-winning Experience360 Program gives students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world experiences individualized to their unique major and goals.

Whether they’re working internships at prestigious organizations, or in the Equine Center learning how to expertly handle horses, students learn by doing and apply their curriculum first-hand in their desired field.

DelVal 222As the episode introduces 10 students from a wide variety of majors and specializations, the show gives viewers an inside-look at DelVal’s beautiful campus, where students get their hands dirty and learn by experience.

Viewers get to see professional facilities on campus like the Equestrian Center Complex, which houses between 40 to 50 riding horses of several breeds and is home to a wide variety of classes and activities.

“The College Tour” also provides a glimpse of DelVal’s Gemmill Animal Science Complex, which includes the Sheep Center as well as the Beef Science Center.

With plentiful resources and facilities for experiential education on campus, the episode also conveys the multitude of opportunities that students have for internships and employment at top-notch organizations and institutions.

Students have earned internships and employment experiences at places like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Longwood Gardens, Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and more.

DelVal 33“DelVal has given me a chance to find out who I want to be and has opened my mind to seek new opportunities,” said Darian Poles ’22, an agribusiness major with an equine specialization.

While earning his degree at DelVal, Darian completed part of his Experience360 program working on a cattle ranch in Florida as an employee at one of the largest operations in the country.

Like Darian, DelVal students experience hands-on learning and gain multiple opportunities to shape successful futures.
