UNIONVILLE, Pa.--Cheshire Point-to-Point on Easter Sunday, March 31 features three National Steeplechase Association sanctioned races, with post time for the first at 12 noon.

With a weather forecast for clear weather on a fairly balmy spring day, Cheshire is a great way to celebrate Easter with an exciting day of timber racing in the country, with a course that spectators can see in its entirety.

Cheshire begins with four pony races scheduled from 10:30 to 11:15.

The $20,000 Cheshire Bowl at noon has seven entries, and with the top horses it has drawn it looks to be a very thrilling and competitive race.

Three of those entered in the Cheshire Bowl are nominated to the Maryland Hunt Cup, and two of them ran first and second in last year's Hunt Cup.

And two of those entered ran first and second in last year's Cheshire Bowl.

Irv Naylor's Withoutmoreado, trained by Kathy Neilson, won last year's Maryland Hunt Cup winner,  and he is also cross-entered in race two.

He's scheduled to be ridden by Conor Tierney.

Chariie Fenwick's Royal Ruse, trained by Sanna Neislon, finished second in last year's Hunt Cup, and in the Cheshire Bowl, he'll be ridden by 2022 NSA Leading Jockey Parker Hendriks

The third Hunt Cup nominated horse entered in the Cheshire Bowl is Nancy A. Reed's Awesome Adrian, trained by Kathy Neilson and scheduled to be ridden by Tierney.

ALONG WITH having horses entered in five of Cheshire's races, Kathy Nielson is also co-chairman of the races.

Leipers Fork Steeplechases's Court Ruler, trained by 2023 NSA Leading Trainer Leslie Young, won last year's Cheshire Bowl and will be ridden again this year by Freddie Procter.

Upland partners' Mystic Strike, trained by Todd McKenna, ran second in last year's race and will be ridden again this year by Gerard Galligan.

The next race is the Apprentice Rider Timber, with seven entries, followed by the Maiden Timber, with post time 1: 00 pm, with eight entered plus four also eligible if one of the entered horses doesn't run.

Cheshire's non-sanctioned races begin at 1:30 with the Novice Timber with five entries, followed by the Side Saddle race on the flat, an Open Flat race and a Novice Flat race, with the last scheduled for 2:30.

With an early scheduled finish time, there will be plenty of time for spectators to get home to continue Easter celebrations.
