WARRENTON, Va.--Parker Hendriks rode three winners, including one he trained, at Warrenton Hunt Point-to-Point on March 16.
Hendriks trained and rode Stewart Strawbridge's Lap of the Gods to win the 3 mile Open Timber over Mekong, trained by Mark Beecher.
Lap of the Gods was bred by Jonathan Sheppard.
"I've been training Lap of the Gods since last summer," said Hendriks. "He won a nice race at Middleburg last fall. We were delighted with him at Warrenton. He jumped well. I'm not sure where he'll go next. He has a lot of options."
Hendriks rode Clarke Ohrstrom's Lightning Rod, trained by Laird George, to win the first race on the card, a 2 mile Open Hurdle, by 1 1/2 lengths over Lightning Ridge, trained by Keri Brion.
"I've schooled him twice,"said Hendriks. "I got a great spin off him.Hopefully we can build on that and go in a sanctioned race in a few weeks."
HENDRIKS won the 2 mile Maiden Hurdle on Del Rio Racing's In Effect, trained by Neil Morris, over Evie's Prince, also trained by Morris.
"This was In Effect's first run for new owners," said Hendriks. "He jumped great. I only got the ride on him about a half hour before the race."
Mark Beecher saddled Daniel Baker's Decisive Triumph, ridden by Dan Nevin to win the Amateur/Novice Rider Hurdle by a neck over Eye of Gunfighter, trained by Lawrence Smith.
Sean McDermott trained and rode Ivy Hill Stable's Love Sagato win over Cuppateaman (Ire), trained by Brion,
Virginia Korrell rode Giantsbane, owned by Ohrstrom and trained by George, to win the 2 mile Maiden Hurdle over Kitten Around, trained by Brion.
Julie Gomena saddled Bon Nouvel Chaser's Karl Cares, ridden by Sarah Cundith, to win the 3 mile Novice Timber over Spring Heeled Jim, trained by Sanna Neilson.
Todd McKenna saddled Keystone Thoroughbred's Hard Strike, ridden by Andrew Burke Ott, to win the Amateur/Novice Rider Timber by a neck over Hero's Return, trained by Beecher, and Key's Discount, who ran in the Amateur race as he was the only entry in the Foxhunter Timber, won that race for owner, trainer and rider Sam Cockburn.
There were three flat races, with The Hero Next Door, trained by Leslie Young and ridden by Freddie Proctor for owner Michael Smith, winning the Open Flat.
Young also saddled Kenilworth King, owned by Kenilworth King Syndicate and ridden by Conor Tierney, to win the Novice Rider Flat, and Smith saddled Hickory Made Stable's Uncle Remi, ridden by Gerard Galligan, to win the Virginia Bred Flat race.
