MARLTON, N.J.--Kevin Babington is still in critical condition after suffering a spinal injury in a fall, but he is fighting hard and making strides towards recovering.
There have been a number of fund raisers, including a recent one at The National Horse Show that raised almost $90,000, but Kevin's bills continue to accrue and will be on-going, so any and all donations will be greatly appreciated, no matter how small.
Dianna Babington posted an update on Kevin's condition on Nov. 5.
"This week I went to Florida to handle a lot of different issues," said Dianna. "I came back to Kessler right from the airport.
"On my way to Kevin’s room my favorite respiratory therapist stopped me and said, “I have not had to cough Kevin all week and I am putting in a request to remove the tracheotomy tube!”
"I could not believe it. Last week our understanding was he might be going home with it.
"She said he’s been pushing himself and his diaphragm and core are getting stronger.
"Once that is out the feeding tube (which is no longer being used and has remained as a precaution) will be the last surgically placed intervention to be removed.
"I can’t tell you how excited Kevin and everyone in our camp is to hear that the end of that tracheotomy tube is coming, said Dianna.
