Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Donates $375,000 to Bryn Mawr Hospital

Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Donates $375,000 to Bryn Mawr Hospital as Part of $2M Pledge to Support Hospital’s Inpatient Psychiatric Unit Continuing Its Role as the Largest Donor to Bryn Mawr Hospital

DEVON, Pa.--The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair donated $375,000 to Bryn Mawr Hospital, part of Main Line Health, during a celebratory event and check presentation on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 5:30 PM. Continuing its role as the largest donor to the hospital, Wayne W. Grafton, CEO and Chairman of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, along with Country Fair Co-chairs Beth Previti and Christine Conners, presented the check to Ed Jimenez, Chief Executive Officer of Main Line Health; John Schwarz, President of Bryn Mawr Hospital; Pam Porter, Chair of the Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation Board; and Cinda Johnson, Executive Director of the Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation.

Devon presentationAs Devon approaches its historic 130th anniversary in 2026, this milestone year carries added significance. The Show continues to embody a proud Main Line tradition of civic philanthropy—reflecting more than a century of community leadership, volunteerism, and partnership with Bryn Mawr Hospital.
This $375,000 donation is made against the $2M pledge supporting Bryn Mawr Hospital’s inpatient psychiatric unit. The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair and the Hospital’s leadership team continue to celebrate their longstanding partnership as they prepare for expanded community engagement leading into 2026.

The relationship between the Devon Horse Show and Bryn Mawr Hospital dates back to 1919, making it one of the longest and most impactful philanthropic partnerships in the region—now 106 years strong. This enduring bond continues to fund capital projects, medical equipment, and essential patient care initiatives, reaffirming Devon’s place as the hospital’s most steadfast benefactor.

THIS partnership also reflects the themes of America 250, as communities across the country prepare to celebrate 250 years of American history. Devon and Bryn Mawr Hospital exemplify the resilience, civic engagement, and grassroots philanthropy at the heart of that national commemoration. Their shared history showcases how local innovation and volunteer leadership build and sustain vital community institutions.

“The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair represents the very best of community philanthropy,” said Wayne W. Grafton, CEO and Chairman of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair. “For more than a century, our volunteers have worked tirelessly to create an extraordinary event that brings together world-class equestrian competition with family entertainment, all in service of supporting exceptional healthcare in our community. This year’s $375,000 donation reflects not only the dedication of our 2,200 volunteers but also the generosity of the thousands of spectators, competitors, sponsors, and supporters who make Devon possible. We are deeply proud to continue this legacy of giving to Bryn Mawr Hospital.”

The 2025 event marked the 129th anniversary of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair and drew more than 125,000 people over its twelve-day event. Top equestrian competitors from around the world arrived to compete in Devon’s prestigious FEI-rated Show, with prize money exceeding $1M. Expanded Country Fair offerings—boutique shopping, family-friendly amusement rides, diverse dining, and live entertainment—continued to elevate the visitor experience.

“Devon has been extraordinarily generous towards Bryn Mawr Hospital for more than 100 years. Their exceptional $2 million pledge towards our Seeing Through Capital Campaign was instrumental in the $35 million expansion and transformation of our inpatient psychiatric services,” said John Schwarz, President, Bryn Mawr Hospital. “Devon’s volunteers give of themselves year-round so that we can provide an enhanced experience for our patients and families. This partnership exemplifies the power of community commitment to advancing healthcare, and we are deeply grateful for Devon’s unwavering support over more than a century.”

The inpatient psychiatric unit is designed as a modern, therapeutic environment that prioritizes safety, privacy, and evidence-based treatment—representing a vital expansion of behavioral health services on the Main Line.

As Devon moves toward its 130th year—and as the country prepares for America’s 250th Anniversary—the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair continues a legacy of giving deeply interwoven with the region’s history. The annual donation reflects the success of the Show, its exhibitors, sponsors, and more than 125,000 spectators, along with its enduring mission: supporting Bryn Mawr Hospital and strengthening the community it serves.
