Susan Sisco, a "Legends of Devon," died Jan. 31

AIKEN, S.C.--Susan Elizabeth Sisco, 63, widow of Andy Miller, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in her home.

Susan SiscoSusan Sisco competing at DevonA native of New Jersey, Susan was a daughter of Virginia Sisco and the late Richard Sisco.

She owned Sunfield Inc. Horse Farm formerly in Christiana, Pa., and currently, since 2013, in Aiken.

She had many accomplishments in over 50 years of riding, training and competing with Hunters and Jumpers.

She was renowned in the discipline of Sidesaddle Equitation.

After winning many sidesaddle classes at the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, she was named to the Legends of Devon in 2022 in Devon, Pa.

 

SUSAN loved all animals and surrounded herself with horses, dogs and cats and the people who loved them.

She considered her horses her friends. She loved Aiken and the horse community where she has many friends and admirers.

Susan Elizabeth Sisco of Aiken, South Carolina, who passed away on January 31, 2023 at the age of 63. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Susan Elizabeth Sisco to pay them a last tribute.

She was loved and cherished by many people including : her husband Andy Miller; her parents, Virginia Sisco and Richard Sisco; her sisters, Karen Johnson (Andy) of Charlottesville, Va., Becky Sisco (Joe Sullivan) of Minford, Ohio and Jennifer Carpenter (Lenny) of Frankfort, Ind., her nieces, Emily Johnson of Charlottesville, VAa., and Melissa Ellegood (John) of Waynesboro, Va.,; her great-nieces, Eva and Kiya; and her great-nephew Emerson.

Surviving in addition to her mother, Virginia in Frankford, Ind., are her sisters, Karen (Andy) Johnson, Becky (Joe Sullivan) Sisco, Jennifer (Lenny) Carpenter,. nieces, Emily Johnson, Melissa (John) Ellegood, grandnieces, Eva and Kiya; grandnephew, Emerson.

A Celebration of Susan’s Life is planned for the Spring in Aiken.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hitchcock Woods Foundation (hitchcockwoods.org), Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (ocrahope.org), Foundation for Women’s Cancer (foundationforwomenscancer.org) or Danny & Ron’s Rescue (Dannyronrescue.org).
