Dear Friends,
Recently Dianna posted a video of me moving my toes on her Facebook page.
My close friends and family can tell you I am a very private person and at first these posts sometimes made me feel a bit awkward, but since the accident I recognize that sharing these small achievements is important to all those who have contributed to helping me along in my recovery.
I want to remind everyone and reiterate how thankful I am for the support that I receive and to ask you not to lose the faith.
The doctors at Mayo told me about any recovery with a spinal cord injury should be considered monumental.
We share these small bits of recovery because I would like it to serve as a reminder to everyone to not give up when things seem impossible.
Living in this chair is one of the most impossible things to ask of yourself but I do it every day.
When you think you can’t face something remember me and I hope I will serve as a reminder that you can get through almost anything required of yourself. As strong as you are as an individual, most of us need support from others to help them along.
I WANT to invite you to participate in an event on Feb 22, which will allow horses and riders to compete on the grass which was one of my favorite things to do as a rider; especially on Mark Q who loved the open field.
Victoria McCullough has opened her Mida Farm at 13801 Gracida Way, which is the extension of Lake Worth Road in Wellington to host a 1.40 Grand Prix benefit from 10-2 pm.
The proceeds of the entries will go to support the Kevin Babington Foundation.
She and Jeff Papows have worked hard to arrange this class and all that goes into it.
A huge thanks to Javan Dalman for donating the jumps which, of course, will be beautiful and interesting for the horses.
Afterwards, from 5-7 pm there is a reception for all at Victoria’s home.
There will be items to bid on including an autographed guitar from “the Boss” himself, generously donated by Bruce Springsteen.
You can find all the information on the Foundations webpage, www.KevinBabingtonFoundation.org.
I look forward to seeing you all there, both at the field at Victoria’s home.
Kevin
