Throughout this pandemic, the silver lining is the increase in pet adoptions and foster families stepping up to save lives.
During the outbreak, BISSELL Pet Foundation facilitated an Empty the Shelters adoption special with 84 organizations across the country, which helped 2,878 pets find forever homes.
It’s amazing to see how animal shelters are adapting with virtual visits, online paperwork and facilitating adoptions by appointment only.
We will repeat this Empty the Shelters initiative with more shelter partners on May 9-17.
We also wrapped up our Feed the Shelters fundraising campaign, which will feed the mouths of 188,437 homeless animals in shelters that are struggling.
WE ARE doing all that we can to make a difference right now, but it all comes down to funding!
Luckily, we’ve created a fun way to engage pet lovers who are searching for a way to do their part.
It’s called, Walktail, a national walkathon fundraiser that allows you to count your steps for homeless pets.
The walk itself will take place on the weekend of May 1-3 and you can pick where and when you want to walk…at a safe distance, of course!
Please read on for full Walktail details – we hope you can share this to encourage more people to get outside and walk their tails off for a good cause!
