SKILLMAN, N.J.--Laura Chapot of Neshanic Station, N.J., won both the Welcome Stake and the $30,000 Grand Prix at Princeton Show Jumping for the second week in a row, but this time she did it with two different horses.
Chapot opened by winning the Welcome Stake on Out Of Ireland.
"Out Of Ireland has been a long time partner of mine," said Chapot. "This was her first time back showing since Florida, so she was glad to be back in the showing. Our horses work very hard in Florida, so we give them a long time off after WEF ends."
Chapot then won the Grand Prix on May 23 on Calafornia, who had won both the Welcome Stake and the Grand Prix the week before.
"CALAFORNIA is in really great form," said Chapot of the horse who also was the !.40m Circuit Champion at WEF. "Calafornia really enjoys Princeton. He's been very consistent."
Chapot was clean in the jump-off in a time of 36.113 to beat Alessandra Volpi on Absolute Du Mio, clean in 38.053, with Gabriell Hero on Erachelle -S third in 39.011.
Chapot is showing at HITS in Saugerties, N.Y. the week of May 26-30, where she has already won the Welcome Stake on Out Of Ireland.
