UNIONVILLE, Pa.--It's hard to know whether to rejoice or weep, but Eventers will have one more chance to compete at Plantation Filed, rejoice because eventers will be able to compete over the beautiful rolling fields again or weep because it will be for the last time.
Eventers are up in arms at Eventing Nation and the U.S. Eventing Association for forcing the end of PFEE due to the overdone political correctness of insisting the world plantation has slavery connotations.
The Horse has received a huge amount of mail, all pro Plantation Field, with a number of new subscribers and numerous "we're with Plantation Field" and "good job" type emails, as opposed to the loss of one subscriber and one email decrying the pro-racist attitude of eventers.
THE HORSE has published just a few of those emails, just the longer ones with opinions, due to space considerations.
As announced, Plantation Field Equestrian Events has received notice that the lease is being terminated.
For the time being the lease remains in effect under contractual provisions that defer the effective date of termination.
PFEE will continue to hold events pending termination.
Its last event will be the Plantation Field Starter Horse Trials - Halloween Edition on Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Plantation Field.
