LEXINGTON, Ky.--Erin Keating, NAYC Event Manager & Director of Jumping Development Programs, updated the plans for the 2020 FEI North American Youth Championships for Dressage and Jumping
With the ever-changing circumstances relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to keep you as updated as possible on how we are assessing our competitions and programs, specifically the 2020 FEI North American Youth Championships (NAYC) for Dressage and Jumping in Traverse City, Mich., from Aug. 5-9.
The uncertainty of the timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting social distancing rules prevents us from creating a definite plan at this time; however, we are currently evaluating all options for potential qualification paths and selection procedures for these Championships and team competitions.
WE ARE working directly with the other National Federations within our FEI group, including Canada and Mexico, and keeping athlete and horse welfare as a top priority while we evaluate all potential options for these Championships.
Once we’ve finalized a path forward, we will communicate the timeline immediately to those interested in participating in this year’s NAYC.
Finally, we know that things are changing quickly and unexpectedly, and we appreciate your patience and support during this time.
