WELLINGTON, Fla.--With the Winter Equestrian Festival about three-quarters over, Laura Chapot of Neshanic Station, N.J., and Scott Stewart of Flemington, N.J., are in their familiar places, leading for Circuit Championships in Jumpers and Hunters.
Chapot, who has been Overall Jumper Rider Circuit Champion for over a decade, is again leading, with almost twice as many points as her nearest rival.
Chapot has 1,041 points to Canadian Erynn Ballard's 672 points.
Henri Prudent of Middleburg, Va., is ahead in Leading Jumper Trainer with 1,146 points to Mary Chapot's 1,118.
In 1.35m Jumpers, Chapot's Umberto leads with $2,275 wile her Little Firebird is third in the standings with $1,195.
Chapot has three in the standings in 1.40m Jumpers, with Calafornia fourth with $9,060, Out of Ireland fifth with $7,500 and Thornhill Kate sixth with $7,030.
IRELAND'S Bertram Allen leads in 1.40m with Lafayette van Overis, $24,240, while Santiago Lambre on Doloris is second, $22,200, and McLain Ward on Catoki third, $12,210.
Chapot is also in the lead in 7-year-old Jumpers on Calmonda 3
"The season's gone well," said Mary Chapot. "We've got some young ones coming up. The older ones are one year older, but they're still enjoying the game. Dual Star and Zealous have been retired to the brood mare band. We'll bred them to Gemini this spring."
Stewart is leading in the Overall Hunter Rider standings with 2,282 points over Victoria Colvin's 2,061 points while his partner, Ken Berkley, leads in Overall Hunter Trainer with 3.463 points over Ohioan David Belford with 1,193.
Stewart on Everwonder leads in Green Hunter, 3'9" section.
Other Delaware Valley residents, Kelley Farmer of Keswick, Va., on Undaunted, leads in Green Conformation and Sandy Ferrell of Bernville, Pa., leads in High Performance Hunters on Moonshot.
In Amateur-Owner Hunter, 36 and older, 3'6". Becky Gochman of New York, N.Y., is first and second with Mythical and Last Man Darling, with Kate Ellis third on Valhalla, Bridget Hall, who trains with Louise Serio of Kennett Square, Pa., is fourth on Who's It, and Clementina Brown of Kennett Square, who also trains with Serio, is fifth on Eagle.
