Jonathan Sheppard And, to make his career even more amazing, the Eclipse Award missed in the previous article came with steeplechaser Mixed Up in 2009, the same year that Informed Decision won an Eclipse Award as the Top Turf Female.

Never before and perhaps never again has any trainer won both a flat and a steeplechase Eclipse in the same year.

Only one trainer, Sidney Watters Jr., has won even one Eclipse Award on the flat as well as over fences.

Danielle Hodsdon, who rode many of Sheppard's top steeplechase horses, including Mixed Up, for a number of years emailed The Horse to bring Mixed Up's Award to our attention.
