MIDDLEBURG, Va.--Yet another fall steeplechase meet will be held without spectators, but to the good of steeplechase owners, the Virginia Fall Races remain NSA recognized.
While the Virginia Fall Races will run on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Glenwood Park in Middleburg, the Racing Committee has now made the arduous decision to not include spectators at the races this year.
The COVID-19 pandemic has turned the world on its head, and steeplechase racing has not been immune to its far-reaching effects.
Fans are so very important to the Virginia Fall Races and to the sport of steeplechase racing!
This was an extremely difficult decision that came down to protecting the health, safety, and welfare of everyone to the best of the committee's abilities.
Possible changes to COVID-19 protocols from all levels of government continue to loom overhead, but the committee remains hopeful that the Fall Races will kick on for a successful and safe day.
The National Steeplechase Association will host a free livestream of the Virginia Fall Races, so fans can tune in online and tailgate from their living room or back yard!
