KENNETT SQUARE, Pa.--The Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association has announced a new schedule of stakes races, revised due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
There will be five stakes on Labor Day at Pa Day at the Races, held at Parx.
The stakes schedule includes the $80,000 Banjo Picker Sprint Stakes for 3 year olds and up at 6 furlongs, the Marshall Jenney Handicap for 3 year olds and up, 5 furlongs on the turf, the $80.000 Mrs. Penny Stakes for fillies and mares 3 year olds and up at 1 1/16 miles on the turf, the $80,000 Storm Cat Stakes for 3 year olds and up at 1 1/16 miles, and the $80,000 Dr. Teresa Garofalo Memorial Stakes for fillies and mare 3 years old and up at 6 furlongs.
The $80.000 Shamrock Rose Stakes for 2-year-old filiies at 6 furlongs will be held Wednesday, Nov. 25 at Penn National.
The final Pa-bred stakes will be the $80.000 Pennsylvania Nursery Stakes for 2 year olds at 7 furlongs at Parx on Saturday, Dec. 5.
