Devon Fall Classic features jumper competition and great entertainment

DEVON, Pa.--The Devon Fall Classic, Sept. 15 - 18 at the Devon show grounds, features exciting all-jumper completion, boutique shopping and great entertainment every evening.

Devon Fair groundsThe Fall Classic includes Open Jumpers, Young Jumpers, Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers, Children’s and Adult-Amateur Jumpers, as well as the Thoroughbred Jumper.

All classes will be in the Dixon Oval, beginning promptly at 8 am each morning, except Saturday, which will start at 7:30 am, which will give spectators great viewing daily.

Every evening features premier competition,s with the $5,000 Open Jumper Welcome Stake on Thursday evening,

The $5,000 Speed Stake will take place Friday evening, and the piece de resistance is set for Saturday evening..

Saturday evening events will kick-off with the $7500 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic.

The night concludes with the highly anticipated $25,000 Devon Fall Classic Grand Prix.

 

ONE OF THE knowledgeable Devon spectator's favorites is Laura Chapot of Neshanic Station,, N.J.

Chapot has always said the Devon is one of her favorite places to show.

She is coming off winning the Idle Dice Stake on Saturday evening at the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair and also winning every major jumper competition at the two Lake Placid shows, including both $100,000 Grand Prix.

Great entertainment is offered every evening, even beginning before the first day of competition, as festivities will kick off at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 when the show grounds open to the public for live entertainment.

There's entertainment for the whole family,,with adults enjoying bands and live music, and youngsters having a grand time at the fair grounds with carnival rides and games.

And there's always great food at Devon, ranging from hamburgers and hot dogs to gourmet dining.

Get a leg up on early Christmas shopping with the many boutiques dotting the grounds adjacent to the competition area.

Wayne Grafton, CEO and Chairman of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Foundation, announced that Patrick Boyle, of Showplace Productions, and Phil J. DeVita will be the new show managers for the September event.

Together, this new management team brings with it decades of experience in every facet of managing a boutique show like the Fall Classic.

As a team their experience runs the full gamut of competitor, trainer, judge, course designer and show production which will be sure to add immense value, creativity and insight to all aspects of this competition.
