Devon Arena Eventing to take place Sunday evening, May 29

DEVON, Pa.--Devon Arena Evenitng will take place on Sunday, May 29, at 7 p.m.

It will focus on highlighting two out of three components of the classic three-day eventing format which showcases dressage, show jumping, and cross country.

In order to qualify for this unique opportunity, riders must have attained a qualifying score in a CCI3*-L eventing competition.

Entries are due by Monday, May 16 for this years $50,000 Arena Eventing Class.

All entries must be submitted online through https://entries.showmanagementsystem.com/login.

Competitors will receive a confirmation email following the completion of the online entry.

 

IN 2019, Boyd Martin on Contestor  topped the leaderboard out of 33 entries in the Arena Eventing Class.

The pair dominated two rounds of competition to best the field of seasoned event athletes.

After round one, the top 12 horse-and-rider combinations returned under the lights for a jump-off round over the tough track to determine the ultimate winner.

The course will again be designed by Olympic gold medalist Captain Mark Phillips, former coach of the U.S. Eventing Team, and will consist of a combination of cross-country and show jumping obstacles utilizing the iconic Dixon Oval and the Wheeler Ring to highlight the best of the eventing discipline.

Captain Phillips also served at the course designer for the World Equestrian Games in 2018.

Cross country obstacles will have a fixed height of 1.15 m and show jumps will be a maximum of 1.20m in height.

The first round course is 1,000m with a calculated speed of 450m/m.

Fault penalties will be given for any knockdowns and exceeding the course time limit.

Prize money for competitors will be awarded up to 12th place and there is no entry fee.
