In a letter to Leslie Wylie at Eventing Nation, Cynthia McGinnes sad, "What you might have done is allow programs like Work to Ride, that brought riding to the inner city youth in Philadelphia....sponsored by money raised through Plantation Field events...to continue and expand. Unfortunately, due to your misguided efforts, this program no longer exists, and these youth will no longer have the chance to experience riding."
Some people took this to mean that Work to Ride no longer exists, but that is not true and not what Mrs. McGinnes meant.
This wonderful program is still going, and many of the children involved in this program have not only benefited by Plantation Field's sponsorship in the past but have also competed in many events in the Unionville area.
Mrs. McGinnes said that what she had meant to say was, "Unfortunately,, due to your misguided efforts, this sponsorship from Plantation Field no longer exists, and these youth will no longer benefit from the money donated by Plantation Field."
