Our animals deserve premium dust-free bedding from Flax Farm

The search for dust free bedding for our horses began years ago.

Flex farmWe were lead to a little-known product made from flax straw.

We took over operation of the company in 2015 and began selling bedding throughout North America.

Knowing we could be subject to varying crop conditions, we started development to further improve the product.

Most important for us was staying away from wood,as it is dusty and depletes soil nitrogen.

In 2022 we introduced Flax Blend, a combination of flax and wheat straw.

Wheat straw is readily available, and after a treatment of heat and compression is even more absorbant than the original product.

We still include flax for the odour control component.

Flax Blend is still the best way to bed a horse because it is

Flax Blend11) super absorbant (3x more than wood products) and uses less than half the bedding compared to wood

2) easy disposal. No composting, actually contains nitrogen instead of depleting it from the soil

3) Cuts stall cleaning time in half because it falls through a manure fork.

4) Absorbs amonia odour 5) Dust free

This product is great for your horses, chickens and small animals.

They will love it!

We distribute through Canada and the United States.

Inquiries welcome for new distribution opportunities.

Stop Sunburn and Cancer with Nag Horse Ranch Products

Nag Horse Ranch manufactures a line of UV protective shades for horses with white faces, uveitis, cataracts, moon blindness, head shaking and more issues.

Nag 12Horses with white on their faces suffer from sunburn, which is uncomfortable and can lead to the development of melanoma and other forms of cancer, painful warts etc.

Nag Horse Ranch’s 90 percent UV proof shades are meticulously crafted in the USA from the finest materials on the market and are designed for comfort, durability and effectiveness.

All products have angles which allow flaring; therefore, the material does not lay on the face making it more comfortable.

Founder Sue Gray invented the nose shade after purchasing a horse with a white muzzle.

Nag 2“The problems if you wanted to turn him out were endless and nothing on the market would work,” she recalls. “From there the line of UV shades grew due to customer request. We now have a large variety protecting the whole face, or just eyes or muzzles. We also have an interchangeable eye saver system that was requested by local veterinarians with the hard eye cups for injuries or post surgeries, these come in five sizes with four cup choices. You can protect either eye or even both with the interchangeable system complete with lavage tubing pouches, drainage pads and more.”

Nag Horse Ranch is recommended by veterinarians worldwide.

Nag 3They care about every situation that comes up and if they don’t have something for it they try to come up with it.

They ship worldwide daily.

We believe Purity = Purity and all pets deserve Sustanance Herbs

Sustenance Herbs logoOver 13 years ago, Joyce Belcher decided it was high time to turn her passion for holistic health into a business.

Sustenance herbsShe expanded her studies to focus on herbs, and launched Herbs for Life, Inc. in 2008 and worked with several holistic and integrative veterinarians, establishing custom formulas creating a unique line of organic pet supplements as well as a line of herbal medicinals, Joyce’s new company quickly began to thrive…and so did her customers

From the start, Herbs for Life, Inc has been dedicated to unsurpassed quality.

Each one of their products is made using 100% non-GMO, certified organic and/or wild harvested ingredients, and no chemicals are added or used, ever, in the manufacturing process.

The company prides themselves on safety and efficacy and plans to continue growing without losing focus of her mission.

Sustenance 3“Our mission and passion is and has always been to help pets get healthy and stay healthy as nature intended,” she says. Whether an animal needs a daily supplement to balance their immune system or a botanical medicinal to address a more serious issue.

Her Detox Liver Cleanse, for instance, has been a game changer for the health of many animals.

It works to remove heavy metals, restore normal healthy function of the eliminatory organs (Liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, blood and neurological systems) and, like all her products, contains NO inactive ingredients.

Joyce felt the name of her supplement line, Pet Wellness Blends, didn’t fully encompass the values she so strongly upholds.

Sustenance 2So what did she do?

She rebranded!

This product line can now be found under the name “Sustenance Herbs”, a title that better reflects its ability to support and maintain health.

“Sustenance refers to something that is consumed that sustains life or health,” says Joyce. “And the happiness that pet owners have when their dog, cat or horse is healthy, happy and feeling great is what keeps me going!”

If Flies Are Bugging Your Horses, Then Bug’em Back with Organic Cowboy!

Organic Cowboy™Fly Parasites are the little guys that kill flies.

Organic Cowboy 1They comprise the cornerstone of an integrated fly control program that can offer you season-long control for your equine facility or stable.

Fly parasites are a time-tested tool to tackle flies before they become adult pests that can spread disease and trouble your horses.

They are harmless, gnat-sized parasitoids that are the natural enemy of flies.

thumbnail fly parasiteFly parasite depositing egg in a fly pupa. The female fly parasite deposits her eggs exclusively in fly pupae, destroying the immobilized fly in its pupal stage long before it becomes an adult pest.

Starting at the onset of fly control season you should release your fly parasites in primary fly breeding habitats.

Typically at horse stables, those areas include manure build-up along fence lines and feeders, messy areas in pastures or corrals and where manure is stored for later removal.

When you find your primary fly breeding habitats simply peel open the pack and shake the fly parasites out and they’ll do the rest of the work.

Organic Cowboy 3Organic Cowboy’s proven blend of fly parasites includes Spalangia cameroni, Muscidifurax zaraptor, and Muscidifurax raptorellus.

Give the Organic Cowboy a call at 877-499-9190 or visit us at www.organiccowboy.com to learn more about the little guys that kill flies.

Natural Equine Essentials' products work to help horses with issues

The founder of Natural Equine Essentials, Isabel Sempe, was raised around horses all her life.

natural 1Her father was a Quarter Horse and Peruvian Horse breeder.

She grew up on a 2,000acre family-owned farm known for its breeding program and competitive level where the care of more than 60 stable horses was part of her everyday life.

Isabel had to work closely with veterinarians and farriers to make sure all the horses were ready for showing.

Equine Health and Nutrition have always played an important role in Isabel’s life.

Natural 2“Horses are in my blood” is what she always says.

Growing up and later as an adult, Isabel competed in Western, Dressage, Show jumping and Eventing at National and international levels in over seven different countries including U.S.A., Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

She has lived in most of the countries she has competed which helped her accumulate a vast network of international veterinarians, trainers, and riders with whom she has learned and shared knowledge of equine and sport matters in general.

She showed in the Central American Games in Eventing in 2013 representing her country.

Natural 3Being around horses, she noticed that it doesn't matter what breed or what discipline you do, some horses are spooky, bad tempered, nervous or anxious, and some have loss of appetite or any other behavioral issues.

That is their way to say they are uncomfortable or asking for help.

She wanted to be the voice and solution for all these issues and help a horse perform at its best either at a show or at home, so began her mission to develop her own natural products that work for both the horses and riders as an alternative to the traditional products on the market today.

After finding great success with her own show horses, she began to share and sell her products with her fellow equine enthusiasts who have also been witness to the incredible results of her products.

YOU Have the Answer .. Let these horses and Equine Gestalt Coaching show you where to find it!

Equine Gestalt Coaching - what is it?

Gestalt 1Well, you take a human client who would like to delve into issues in their life, (whether it be seeking clarity over a decision or confronting unfinished business which is detracting from their joy); you add a human coach trained in Gestalt who gently guides the client in an experiential, somatic journey to truth and wholeness; then - most important - you bring on a horse (or donkey!) who sees, supports, and inspires their human client as they accompany them toward congruence and peace.

Kelly Coolbaugh, June McIntosh, and Adrienne Primrose are human coaches who have completed a rigorous two-year Equine Gestalt Coaching certification program with Touched by a Horse (TBAH). TBAH was founded by Melisa Pearce, a psychotherapist, lifelong horsewoman, and pioneer in the horse-human healing movement.

Gestalt 2There are now over 200 TBAH-trained coaches world-wide, helping horses to help humans.

Kelly, June and Adrienne’s equine partners have required no special training, as their ability to do this work is an innate gift of their nature.

They do, however, continue to grow in wisdom, confidence, and creativity as they gain experience in their work, and it is wonderful to see how they express themselves and step up to help their human clients.

Darlene Latshaw, Massage Therapist, relieves muscle stiffness

"He's Not Really Lame, But He's Not Going Quite Right," said Darlene Latshaw, LMT

Latshaw 1One of the most common phone calls I receive is from owners who tell me their horse isn't lame, but he's just a little off and their Vet hasn't been able to pinpoint anything definitive.

After a bit of discussion, they explain details like their horse being short strided, flying changes or tempe changes that are suddenly difficult, short choppy strides at the trot, going "hollow", just a whole host of issues.

Sometimes it's more of a behavioral issue- Irritability, being "hot" or anxious.

That's where holistic bodywork can be incredibly helpful.

Muscular stiffness can present itself in numerous ways, like those mentioned above.

It can also be felt in specific areas, or throughout the entire body.

Speaking as a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Magnawave Practioner, that's where things begin to get interesting.

Clues begin to present themselves and point towards an underlying cause.

Latshaw 2For instance, full body stiffness can be caused by strenuous work, but it can also be caused by issues like Lyme disease or Anaplasmosis or a bout of laminitis.

Specific areas of sensitivity can point to soft tissue strains or sprains, poorly fitting tack, arthritic changes or even less than ideal training methods.

Bodywork can be beneficial in two ways.

It can help pinpoint specific areas of concern, which often leads to a conversation with your Vet (or Blacksmith, Dentist, Saddle Fitter, etc.) and it can help relieve soreness.

In relieving soft tissue stiffness or soreness, I typically use a combination of Massage Therapy and Magnawave treatments (PEMF).

Latshaw 3There are also times when I find the addition of Red Light therapy, ice, heat or even essential oils to help resolve an issue.

And, as a Licensed Massage Therapist, I use all of those modalities and more to keep my Equestrian clients just as comfortable and stress-free as their horses! I work with clients in my office in Royersdford Mon. 9-4 and Wed. 11-6, and I make farm calls Tues, Thurs and Fri.
