LEXINGTON, Ky.--Scott Stewart of Flemington, N.J., on Daydream won the $75,000 Hunter Classic on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the 141st National Horse Show.
Stewart led from start to finish with first round scores of 90 and 92 and second round scores of 93 and 95 to win his fourth championship.
Not only did Stewart win the class, but he was also Reserve Champion on Colter.
Earlier in the day, Stewart was champion in Green Hunter 3’9 on Colter and in High Performance Conformation Hunter on California Love .
Scott was the Leading Hunter Rider.
“I still get really nervous,” said Stewart. “I don’t sleep much at night before a horse show like this, but it’s been a great couple of days of showing, and obviously tonight couldn’t have gone any better because both horses were amazing.”
“I’ve had so many great memories at this horse show from when it was at Madison Square Garden to here in Kentucky but I think this week outdid all of the other years.”
Callie Seaman was Amateur-Owner, 3'6"champion on Silver Lining and reserve on Diamante.
“Both of my horses have been incredible all week," said Seaman. "Silver Lining is my most reliable partner. I got him as a 4-year-old, and he is now 10, so to watch him develop and win has been really rewarding. Diamante really stepped up in this division given that he is my derby horse, but he’s getting a bit older now so I’m trying to make his life a little easier and for him to come in and get a 90 shows that he is adjusting to a little bit of a smaller jump better. I have always loved this horse show because it is one of my favorite rings to ride in so to come and not only be champion for the first time in the 3’6, but also reserve is amazing.”
