UPPER MARLBORO, Md.--Scott Stewart dominated the first day of hunter competition at the Washington International Horse Show on Oct. 24.
Riding Jordon, who was Green Conformation Hunter Champion and Hunter Grand Champion at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg last week, Stewart won all three classes in the Green Conformation Hunter in Washington, winning the model, the first over fences class and the handy hunter.
With those three wins, Jordon is virtually assured of also winning the Green Conformation championship in Washington.
In Green Hunter, 3'6", Stewart rode Casanova Royal to win both classes, the open over fences and the handy hunter.
In the High Performance Conformation Hunters, For Always was second in the model and, ridden by Stewart, placed first in the over fences and third in the Handy Hunter.
In the High Performance Hunter, Stewart rode Nottingham to second in the first over fences class and then won the handy hunters.
For Always and Nottingham returned in the Green Hunter 3'6" to dominate that section, with Nottingham winning the first over fences class and For Always placing second.
For Always then returned in the handy hunters class to place first with Nottingham third.
The final classes, including the under saddles in each section, will be competed and the championships awarded on Tuesday, Oct. 25, and the first amateur owner classes will begin.
Open jumpers begin Thursday, Oct. 27, wit the Welcome Stake at 7 p.m.
