To the Editor,
I commend the US team for not pushing their horses to the finish. I know this is journalism and this is what you are supposed to say but these magestic animals have already the trek 1/2 way round the world. Mentally they must be spent. Congratulations US Eventing team!!!!

To the Editor,
Congratulations for telling it like it is. You never leave anything on the field particularly at that level. Compare this effort to that of our 4x100 men’s medley relay swimming.

To the Editor,
While I appreciate your thoughts on the stellar rides our Eventing Team enjoyed with their equine partners in Tokyo, I am glad that they placed the welfare of their horses first and rode them to the finish the way they saw fit considering the heat and humid conditions they were in.

To the Editor,
With all due respect to eventing chef d'equipe Duvander, His riders, Doug Payne, Phillip Dutton, and Boyd Martin, did not have three clear rounds. The Brits had three clear rounds. The Americans had three rounds with no jumping faults and a few time penalties.
With a bit of effort, they might have made the time allowed to have clear rounds, and if they had, they would be in second place, silver medal territory, now. Never underestimate how costly those few time penalties can be.

To the Editor,
I'm so glad you called them out on this, and I think you should have included Jimmy Wofford in the list of Eventing greats.
Tanya Olyyphant
Absolutely, Jimmy Wofford should have been included!! My error.
