LAKE PLACID, N.Y.--Laura Chapot rode Calafornia to winb the $20,000 1.40m Open Stake, Saturday’s featured competition at the Lake Placid Horse Shows.
In the Open Stake, Chapot was one of eight entries to reach the jump-off by going clean over the first-round course designed by Alan Wade.
She then claimed the win with another clean go over the tiebreaker course with the fastest time of 36.444 seconds.
Second place went to Grace Debney who finished the jump-off clean in 36.665 seconds on Boheme De La Roque. and Chapot also took third going clean in 36.787 seconds on Gideon.
Saturday also saw Dylann Ephraimson ride Vindicator to victory in the $5,000 Adult Amateur Jumper Classic with second going to Lee Lee McNeil on Heike ES and third to Wendy Chapot Nunn on Cashe.
