Dianne Johnson, of Kirkland, Wash., was elected secretary, a four-year term, and John Bahret, of Middletown, R. I., was elected treasurer, a four-year term.

Elected as at-large directors for four-year terms were Britt McCormick of Allen, Texas, Tobey McWilliams of Oley, Pa., Cheryl Rubenstein of Bellaire, Texas and James Urba of, Elkhorn, Neb.

The following were appointed to the Board of Directors for four-year terms during their working group meetings and ratified by the Board, Hunter Vice President (Hunter Working Group Chair) - Robin Rost Brown of Morriston, Fla., and Jumper Vice President (Jumper Working Group Chair) - Charlotte Skinner-Robson of North Hollywood, Calif.

Brown, the daughter of Bob Rost who, along with Frank Chapot, wrote many of the jumper rules, grew up in Branchville, N.J.

CANDIDATES for the Board of Directors election were determined through a multi-step process.

USHJA members submitted nominations for USHJA Board of Director positions, which were then reviewed by the USHJA Nominating Committee.

The committee members interviewed candidates before submitting to the USHJA Board of Directors their recommended nominee(s) for each position for inclusion on the ballot.

Upon receipt of the Nominating Committee's recommended candidates, the Board of Directors had 10 days to name additional qualified nominations to the ballot for each of the positions from the floor, if they chose to do so.

The following day, Dec. 11, during Hunter and Jumper Working Group meetings, the Working Groups selected four discipline directors each, a total of eight additional discipline directors that will be added to the USHJA Board of Directors.

These appointments were later ratified by the Board of Directors during the Tuesday afternoon closed Board Meeting.

All newly elected and appointed members of the Board of Directors will assume their duties immediately following the close of this year's Annual Meeting.

These eight discipline directors were elected for four-year terms to the Board of Directors by the Hunter and Jumper Working Groups:

Rick Cram of Aiken, S.C. (Hunter Working Group appointment)
Margie Engle of Wellington, Fla. (Jumper Working Group athlete appointment)
Brooke Kemper of Somerset, Va. (Jumper Working Group appointment)
