Grafton, CEO and Chairman, Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, along with Country Fair Co-chairs Kathy Moore and Debbie Martin, presented the check to John Schwarz - Bryn Mawr Hospital President, Cinda Johnson - Executive Director of Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation, and Pam Porter - Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation Board Chair.
Devon’s significant contribution continues its longstanding role as the largest donor to Bryn Mawr Hospital.
This significant donation represents the second installment of a five‐year, $2M pledge made by the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair in support of Bryn Mawr Hospital's inpatient psychiatric unit.
The Show’s board members along with the Hospital’s leadership team celebrated their 127-year partnership during a donation reception at the Hospital's Pennypacker Rotunda on Friday, Dec. 1.
"IT'S AN HONOR to be a longstanding contributor to Bryn Mawr Hospital," said Wayne W. Grafton, CEO and Chairman of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair. "The ability to present this check each year is directly tied to the success of our renowned equestrian event which is run by thousands of volunteers to whom we are grateful."
The 2023 event, which marked the 127th anniversary of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, drew more than 125,000 people over 11days.
Top equestrian competitors flocked to compete in Devon's prestigious FEI-rated Show, offering prize money over $1M, and in return displayed the strongest attendance among the three FEI-rated classes.
"Devon has been extremely generous towards Bryn Mawr Hospital for more than 100 years. Their extraordinary $2 million pledge towards our Seeing Through Capital Campaign supports the $35 million expansion and transformation of our behavioral health inpatient services," said John Schwarz, President, Bryn Mawr Hospital. "Devon’s volunteers give of themselves year-round so that we can provide an enhanced experience for our patients and families."
